In this blog we reflect on one of the most recent prophetic pictures given on Sunday 4th May 2025 by Vinu Paul, the apostolic leader of Commission, our family of churches.

Joshua Chapter 5 verses 1 -2
Now when all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the coast heard how the Lord had dried up the Jordan before the Israelites until they had crossed over, their hearts melted in fear and they no longer had the courage to face the Israelites. At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make flint knives and circumcise the Israelites again.”
When the Israelites crossed over into the promised land, after 40 years in the wilderness, the temptation might have been to press on with the mission of taking the land in their own strength. However, the first thing that God calls them to do is to stop and to consecrate themselves before the Lord. Vinu being reminded of this gave our church this prophetic word.
"You have come a long way, and God is very pleased with you as a church, but God is actually taking you to a new level of maturity, and in this new level of maturity, you're going to win many battles. Please don't take only the word ‘win’, because ‘battles’ is important also. You're going to win many battles.
I believe God is calling you as a church into a season of maturity. This maturity is to give you victory. This maturity is to fulfil the promises God has spoken over you, individually and corporately. As you step into this new season God is also demanding a few things from you.
In Joshua chapter 5, He said, every male has to be circumcised. Now I'm not promoting circumcision, but there is a consecration, a sense of God encouraging you to become more and more transparent before God. In this new season God is encouraging you to a new level of transparency, openness and vulnerability before him.
There are things that happen in Joshua 5. God stopped the manna that they were used to and were enjoying for 40 years. And things that you're used to may stop, but it is not to make you hungry, or to starve you, but it is to actually help you eat the fruit of the land. God may well stop some things that you were used to, and encouraging you to [plough, dig, grow and] enjoy the 'fruit of the land'. This is a new season of maturity you are entering into.
You're going to see the Lord in a new way. You're going to see and experience the commander of the army. When he stood, Joshua asked a question, are you for us or for our enemy? And he (the angel of the lord) said, No, you don't get to make that choice. You come near where I am, take off your sandals, this is Holy ground. I believe there is a drawing near, towards, the Lord for you as a church. There is a deep drawing of every individual. Starting with the leadership, all are called to draw near to God, and you will see victory and experience the command of the Lord in a new way.
Lets pray, Father, I thank you for causing this church to move to the next level, this next level of maturity, this next level of transparency, next level of enjoying the fruit, next level of knowing the Lord in a deeper way. Bless them. I pray in Jesus' Name, Amen."
Hope Church lets be faithful to what God is saying to us, through Vinu and Joshua chapter 5. Let's trust there are wonderful battles to be won, promises to be taken hold of and pray into, an increase in our transparency before God, a maturity to accept things might stop and enjoy God's food in a new way and a drawing near, of every one of us, before the Lord.
