Over this series of blogs we are taking time to reflect on some key things that have been spoken over our church over the past few years. In this blog we reflect on the most recent prophetic picture given on Sunday 16th June 2024 by Heather and Guy Miller.
Whilst praying for our church they said they saw a tree struck by lightning, and it looked like it had lost its life and its leaves. But in the spirit Guy said he saw the tree coming back to life and it was planted next to a well. He said he felt God saying we are a well church. All is well. And that is the picture he wants to give us for our church.
This church, he says, is full of life. This church has lots of living water to be drawn into this city, around this nation and into the nations of the world.
He felt God say, I am building a big well. I am using old stones from old wells to build this well strong. It will be a place to encounter God. It will be a place of worship. It will draw many to come and hear the good news of Jesus.
You will also build wells in other places. He saw to the east and to the west, wells being dug and opened and water being found. He saw members of this church drinking of this water and taking it to the world. He said he felt God would say, the nations are on his heart for this church. Not that they just come (which many nations do) but that they drink and go again into dry and thirsty places of this world.
Guy went on to speak on Unrivalled Worship where Jesus meets the women at the well. In this story, in John chapter 4 - hunger and thirst are raised.
In verse 14, Jesus says that he is able to provide living water and that whoever drinks the water he gives them will never thirst. Indeed, it will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
In verse 32, when the disciples brought him food, Jesus says I have food to eat that you know nothing about, for my food is to do the will of Him who sent me to finish his work.
Hope Church we are to be a people who know what it means to walk in step with the Spirit, enjoying his presence and doing the will of the father, in order that we might know and be able to share this living water and life giving food with our community.
I am blessed reading the blogs. Not only are they insightful, they are reminders of what great honour it is to serve and be part of God's purpose for Hope church
