Prayer & Fasting (2/4) Building Family

During this week of Prayer and Fasting, as a church we are praying that God will continue to build us together as family in the months ahead. In this short video Chris, shares how we see God doing that over the coming months and what you can get stuck into. Below the video are further details about the things that Chris shares.

We're delighted to invite you to a morning with Terry Virgo. Terry Virgo is the founder of Newfrontiers, a worldwide family of churches together on a mission to establish the kingdom of God by restoring the church, making disciples, training leaders and planting churches. Newfrontiers serves 1,500+ churches across 70 countries, through 15 different spheres. One of those sphere's is called Commission - to which Hope Church belongs. On Sunday 16th October, at the Royal Grammar School in Guildford, we'll enjoy some time of worship, and then hear from Terry. Afterwards there will be time to enjoy refreshments together too.

Groups

Part of Building Family is connecting together on a regular basis with others to do life together faith and fun together. Youth, 6th form, Students&20's, Men, Women and Life Groups - At Hope Church there's a group for everyone! We'd love to encourage you to get stuck into one of these groups and trust that as you get connected to others in our church you will flourish.

Serving

Another way of connecting, growing and building together is through serving alongside others. In this way you get to practically contribute to the life of Hope Church, whilst blessing others and being blessed in the process.

At the moment we're looking to bolster all our Sunday morning serving teams, so if you've got an idea where you might like to serve, get in touch, or just ask where you might fit best.

Safeguarding

With children and youth work being key in our church, one of the most important aspects of this ministry is for children and young people to feel safe and secure in our church. As we provide this safe environment, we believe God will entrust us with more children and young people. Therefore, we are going to be hosting a Safeguarding Training Evening for all those who currently serve or are interested in serving our children and young people teams. This is also for those who currently hold an enhanced DBS with us. It will be held on Wednesday 12th October 745pm – 930pm at Westborough church. This will be an informative and practical session led by Lois Forsdyke (a previous children's social worker) and myself (a pastoral and safeguarding leader in a secondary school.)

Lets all continue to enjoy Building Family Together at Hope Church. In our next blog, you'll hear more about how we Share Jesus together too.

I look forward to seeing many of you this week during our prayer sessions. The zoom details remain the same each day.
