As a church, we believe that God has called us to the Great Commission, as laid out in Matthew chapter 28, where Jesus encourages all Christians to share their faith with others. As a church we recognise that there are lots of steps before effectively sharing your faith with someone, including taking a genuine interest in them, listening to them and caring for them. In this short video Chris shares what that looks like for us, this Autumn term.
Church Day Out
It was just fantastic gathering together with many of you for our Church Day Out! On that day we enjoyed playing games, bouncy castles, BBQ, a variety of talents and the ice cream van was a nice touch too. Of course this was a special day to build family, but it was also a great occasion where friends and family came too. It was just an easy way to invite people to get to know those who attend Hope Church, and it was really lovely for them to share the day with us.
Light Party
At the end of the October half term we're putting on a Light Party for all Primary school aged children. It will be an alternative to Halloween where we will celebrate light. The children are invited to wear bright colours and have fun with other children in the church and the friends they choose to invite. There will be games, bubble machines, crafts, glow sticks, party bags, food and so much more. This will be a free event, but all children will need to book their space. Bookings will open next week, and an email will go out to the church with details of how.

If you would like to help make this event happen, Catherine Kimbangi is hosting a planning meeting on Monday 10th October, where she'd love you to help her shape the plans for the event. Contact her for details.
Quiz Night
After the success of our Murder Mystery Evening last year, this year we're putting on a Quiz Night. There will be drinks, food, a variety of rounds. So now's the time to start thinking about who might be on your team. You can sign up together, or individually, everyone is welcome. This is another one of those great events to invite your work colleagues, neighbours and friends to. Tickets will go on sale soon for this event so look out for that towards the end of October.

Christmas Carol Service
On Sunday 11th December at 4pm we're going to have our Christmas Carol Service. This is always one of the highlights of our year as we sing carols, hear a short talk, enjoy good Christmas cheer and have a great time together.
We'll get some invitations out to you nearer the time and share more about this great and easy invite to Hope Church.
During the event we're going to put on a Christmas Kids Party, which will be a fantastic way for our young people to celebrate, enjoy games, and lots of Christmas celebrations.

The Alpha Course
The alpha course is a great way to find out and explore the claims of the Christian faith. Whether you know nothing about Christianity or you want to refresh yourself with its claims, then the Alpha Course is for you. It's a great and relaxed way to ask questions, to discuss perspectives, to hear what others think in a safe and non judgemental way.
Over 7 sessions we'll explore topics such as who is Jesus, why did he come to earth, why did he die, how can I trust the bible, How do I know any of this is true, hasnt science buried God, and much more.
You can sign up for our Alpha Course here.
