Sundays at Hope Church this Autumn

Updated: Jun 13, 2022

Please find below a list of key Sundays coming up for us as a church - consider this a one stop shop, where to find all the information.

All other Sunday dates not listed here will be at the Royal Grammar School (RGS) at 10am as usual.

21st November 2021 - Meeting at St John's Stoke 2pm

Instead of meeting in the morning we will be meeting in the afternoon for a short service, followed by tea, coffee and cakes. The meeting will include our young people, however we will also have a area for parents to take little ones should they wish to.

a: St John's Stoke, Stoke Road, GU1 1HB

t: 2pm to 4pm

p: parking can be accessed by driving through the Guildford lido car park, and parking on the gravel near the church.

28th November 2021 - Compassion Celebration

As a church we love the work of Compassion, a wonderful charity that helps to alleviate poverty to the poorest children around the world in Jesus' name. We partner with Compassion with many invidiuals across our church sponsoring children, to help them receive education, medication and family support. We also sponsor a child survival unit in Kenya, which helps increase the chances of survival after birth for mums and babies. This Sunday therefore is a celebration of our partnership with Compassion and an opportunity to hear a testimony from someone who has been blessed by the work of Compassion themselves.

12th December 2021 - Christmas Carol Celebration at 4pm

Celebrating Christmas is a wonderful thing for us to be able to do each year. As people walking in the darkness of the pandemic and life's issues this Christmas we get to celebrate Jesus, the light of the world. The carol service will be specifically aimed at adult guests and will take place at 4pm at the Royal Grammar School. During the carol service we will have a Christmas kids party that they will absolutely love.

This will be followed by festive treats and drinks for all. During this celebration we will take up an offering for the child survival unit in Kenya, that we support through Compassion.

t: 4pm to 5pm followed by drinks

26th December 2021 - No Meeting

2nd January 2021 - Testimony Sunday, 10am at RGS

You might have all sorts of concerns, nerves, anxieties or hopes and dreams about what the new year might bring. Testimony Sunday is a great way to hear from people in our church who have known God's grace, peace and joy in the past year, as it encourages us all to know that just as God has been with them, we can have faith He'll be with us too.

If you would like to share a testimony about how you became a christian, or how you have seen God's faithfulness in your life over the past year please tell us here. And do think about who you might invite to hear stories of how God has blessed and impacted others today.
